Welcome! 😊
My name is Houda Haidar (هدى حيضر), pronounced "Hoo-dah Hi-dar".
I am a finishing PhD student at Newcastle University researching supermassive black holes! Previously, I've completed my Masters at Observatoire de Paris in France and my Bachelors at Queen Mary University of London.
My research combines JWST observations with zoom-in hydrodynamical simulations to investigate how dust behaves near supermassive black holes, and what that reveals about their impact on their host galaxies.
I am also interested in neuroscience research, and I am heavily influenced by neuroscientists like Carol Dweck, Anne-Laure Le Cunff and Steve Peters!
Originally from Morocco, I am passionate about making STEM more inclusive and accessible. Outside research, I enjoy creating digital art, inspired by science and nature.
Drop me an email (see contact), I'd love to connect!
